Lego DC Batman Batmobile Tumbler Gets Big Discount, But It Will Sell Out Quick

And yes, it does come in black.

It's debatable which Batmobile is the best--the one from Batman Forever is the undisputed king, according to Bat-science--but building any of the Caped Crusader's crimefighting vehicles in Lego is undeniably a great way to spend an afternoon. For fans of the Dark Knight Trilogy, Amazon has a limited-time Lightning Deal on the Batmobile seen in the Christopher Nolan movies, as you can get this hunk of justice-dispensing plastic for just $208. Normally $270, the Lego Batmobile Tumbler hardly ever gets a discount, let alone a sizable one like this. It was on sale for $213 last month, but that deal sold out within hours--this deal will disappear soon, too.

The Lego set is also fun to build, as it has over 2,000 parts and comes with minifigures of Batman and The Joker. Because the Tumbler has a very angular design, this has translated well into a Lego model while retaining the signature style of those blocks. You have several panels, authentic details, and intimidating wheels on this beastly machine, and when you're done building it, you can display it on a sturdy base with a nameplate that includes details of the model. It's pretty big as well, measuring 17 inches in length and nine inches in width.

If you want to go a step further, you can even grab LEDs that fit into the model, from third-party sellers:

For a more retro Batmobile, check out the upcoming Lego Batman set based on the vehicle in the 1966 TV series. The classic Batmobile Lego set is available to preorder for $150 ahead of its October 1 release.

If you'd prefer something smaller for your Lego hobby--but still Batman-themed--several new sets have recently launched as well. These are smaller but more affordable and include quick lunchtime builds like the Batmobile from Batman: The Animated Series. You get all the parts you need to build a Batmobile that's 11 inches long, as well as minifigures of Batman, Mr. Freeze, and Harley Quinn.

Alternatively, there's the Lego Batman: Batcave Adventure set that is adorable and features the Joker causing mayhem in the Dark Knight's lair, and motorcycle fans can build the Bat-Pod from The Dark Knight without having to blow up their Tumbler Batmobile. This also includes parts to build a Batman figure, which can strike a pose and slot into the Bat-Pod.

Lastly, the Batman Mech Armor Lego set is a nice, quick project for when you're taking a break. This includes a buildable Batman mech with a Batarang, stud launcher, and jetpack, plus a Batman minifigure with a fabric cape and another Batarang that can be stored on the mech's arm.
