The PS5 Pro is real, and it's coming soon. As Sony revealed during a livestream Tuesday morning, the PS5 Pro will offer a bump in horsepower over the current PS5 and PS5 Slim models, making it possible to play PS5 games--and even some PS4 titles--in 4K resolution at 60fps. In other words, the PS5 Pro could make it possible to play games with the visual quality of fidelity mode and the smoothness of performance mode. The enhanced console is set to launch on November 7 for $700--$200 more than the PS5 Slim ($500) and $250 more than the PS5 Slim Digital ($450).

The PS5 Pro is a digital-only console, but it supports the $80 disc drive attachment PlayStation released last year. If you prefer to place your consoles upright, you'll need to buy the optional vertical stand for $30. All told, you could be looking at $820 plus your local tax rate. That's pretty steep for a mid-generation hardware refresh, but if the visual upgrades have already caught your eye, you can preorder the PS5 Pro starting September 26 at PlayStation Direct. Major retailers will begin taking preorders on October 10.
