MCU Actor Says It's Easy To Bash Marvel Movies But Please Don't

"They're a big part of what contributes to this business and allows us to have smaller movies as well."

Actor Sebastian Stan plays Bucky Barnes in the MCU, and he's now spoken out to say it's easy to bash Marvel movies, but that's "convenient" and doesn't acknowledge how these films help the wider Hollywood industry.

He told Variety that it's becoming "really convenient to pick on [Marvel films]," and that's OK because everyone has their own opinion. But the success of massive movies helps pay for smaller projects, he said.

"But they're a big part of what contributes to this business and allows us to have smaller movies as well. This is an artery traveling through the system of this entire machinery that's Hollywood," he said. "It feeds in so many more ways than people acknowledge. Sometimes I get protective of it because the intention is really f**king good. It's just f**king hard to make a good movie over and over again."

Stan said Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige is the "most selfless man on this planet" who has "never changed or wavered" despite the gigantic success of the films he's worked on.

"They legitimately spend so much time thinking, how could we surprise people and give people something different? His big motto is 'The best idea wins.' It just comes from a good place--and that's the only reason why sometimes I get protective of it. Because the intention is really good," he said.

Stan is coming back to play Bucky again in Marvel's Thunderbolts, which releases in 2025. His latest project is the film The Apprentice, in which he plays Donald Trump.
