Throne And Liberty: Cross-Play And Cross-Progression Explained
Does Amazon's newest MMO support cross-play and cross-progression functionality? Let's find out.
Throne and Liberty does a great job of feeling like a return to the glory days of MMOs, but that doesn't mean it eschews every modern feature or convenience. This free-to-play adventure has a lot of efficient mechanics to help players feel like they have choices in its massive world. However, you may be wondering if that extends to cross-progression and cross-play functionality. Well, we have good news and bad news--so let's dive in and find out.
Does Throne and Liberty have cross-progression (AKA cross-save)?
So, the bad news first: Throne and Liberty does not support cross-progression at this time. As such, if you purchase the game on more than one platform, you'll have to start entirely new accounts and characters on each.
Sadly, as of this writing, developer NCSoft has not announced any plans to add this functionality in the future, but we'll be sure to keep this updated if that changes.
Does Throne and Liberty have cross-play?
Now for the good news: Yes, Throne and Liberty supports cross-play. This means that you can play with players on other platforms with no notable restrictions, letting you choose your preferred place to play without worrying if your friends will be locked out of playing with you.
Do you need PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core subscription to play Throne and Liberty?
If you're planning to play on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, we have some more good news: You do not need a PlayStation Plus or Game Pass Core subscription to play Throne and Liberty. You will, however, need to have a PlayStation or Xbox account--but if you play on one of these platforms, you probably already do.
