A bunch of laptops are on sale at Walmart, many of which are budget-friendly productivity notebooks that could work well for students. You can get a spacious 16-inch Asus Vivobook with an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD for only $519 (was $699). For something cheaper, check out the Lenovo IdeaPad 1, which offers a 15.6-inch display, Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD. It's on sale for $379 (was $649).
On the gaming side, Walmart has an HP Victus gaming laptop for just $599, which is just about the lowest price you can find for a gaming laptop in 2024. Fitted with a Nvidia RTX 4050 GPU, 8GB RAM, and 512GB SSD, this HP Victus is more geared toward indie games and less graphically intensive experiences. Don't expect it to perform well with the latest AAA games, but the RAM is upgradeable to 16GB. Adding an extra 8GB RAM is cheap and easy to do. This Victus model has a 144Hz 15.6-inch display with anti-glare tech.
For a more powerful gaming laptop, the Asus ROG Strix G17 is on sale for $250 off. The ROG Strix G17 is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD. It also packs in a giant 17.3-inch display that supports a 240Hz refresh rate.
Aside from laptops, you'll find an LG 34-inch curved ultrawide monitor on sale for only $249. This 3440x1440 resolution ultrawide monitor is mainly geared toward productivity, as its 100Hz refresh rate is slower than what's offered in most gaming monitors. For gaming, there are 31.5-inch ultrawide curved monitors from MSI and Acer on sale for only $199 and $159, respectively.
If you want a decent monitor while spending as little as possible, you'll find a 23.8-inch Acer Nitro IPS monitor for only $89 (was $129). And despite the low price, it still gets you a 1080p resolution and 75Hz refresh rate. Toss in support for AMD Radeon FreeSync to eliminate tearing, and it's fairly well-equipped for a monitor at this price.
Looking for a tablet for youngsters? Amazon's Kindle Fire Kids tablets are certainly the most popular, but prices have steadily risen over the past few years. If you don't want to spend $110 on a Fire Kids tablet, check out the Android-based Contixo Kids Tablet. Available in six different colors and discounted to only $50 right now, this 7-inch tablet comes with a protective case, offers up to six hours of battery life for those long car rides, and has 15 preloaded educational apps. Since it runs Android, you can download apps from the Play Store, too.
Other notable deals include the Logitech Wireless Keyboard + Mouse Combo for $18 (down from $22), the budget-friendly Onn 11-inch Tablet (128GB) for $139 (down from $169), and the Veatool Wireless Earbuds for $20 (down from $100).
