Silent Hill 2 Remake Will Be A PlayStation Console Exclusive For At Least A Year
A new trailer reveals the exclusivity period.
The remake of Silent Hill 2 will be a console exclusive for PlayStation 5 for at least year, according to a new trailer.
The new trailer, dubbed the "Immersion Trailer," shows various locations in the Silent Hill 2 remake and provides details about how the PS5's DualSense features help players get immersed in the gameplay. The controller's haptic feedback can be felt when hitting enemies with close-range weapons, and the adaptive triggers give off resistance when shooting with firearms. The controller's light bar are changes colors depending on the status of the player's HP. Since Silent Hill 2 is a horror game, the PS5's 3D audio is also highlighted.
The end of the trailer says that the game is a PS5 console exclusive, but in small text at the bottom reads, "Also available on PC. Not available on other formats until 10.8.2025." This means that it'll be at least a year from release until Silent Hill 2 can be released on other platforms like Xbox, and possibly even the Switch successor when it eventually comes out.
Silent Hill 2 launches on October 8 for PC and PS5. In GameSpot's Silent Hill 2 remake preview, we said, "After spending about three hours with Silent Hill 2 Remake, I feel confident the puzzle-driven horror game will honor the original's tones and excite old fans while also creating plenty of new ones."
