Yu-Gi-Oh: Early Days Collection - Rare Card Preorder Bonus, Confirmed Games, And More
Five Game Boy games in the compilation have been revealed so far, four of which are leaving Japan for the first time.
Yu-Gi-Oh fans have been underserved when it comes to replaying some of the best games from the franchise's heyday, but that's all changing with the upcoming Yu-Gi-Oh: Early Days Collection. What's most exciting about the upcoming compilation is that it includes Game Boy games that didn't release outside of Japan the first time around. Yu-Gi-Oh: Early Days Collection doesn't have a release date, and Konami hasn't revealed the full list of games, but from what we know so far, fans will want to keep this on their radar. Physical edition preorders for Nintendo Switch are now live at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target for $50.

The physical edition also comes with one of two Quarter Century Secret Rare Harpie's Feather Duster cards.
So far, five games have been revealed for the collection:
- Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters (1998, Game Boy)
- Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 2: Dark Duel Stories (1999, Game Boy Color)
- Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Duel Stories (2000) (2,000, Game Boy Color)
- Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists (2000, Game Boy Color)
- Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 (2001, Game Boy Advance)
Of those five games, only Dark Duel Stories released in North America; the other four games were exclusive to Japan. Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters was the franchise's first big hit and the only entry to release on original Game Boy. The series really hit its stride on Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance in the early 2000s.
In total, you can expect the compilation to include over 10 Yu-Gi-Oh games when it eventually releases.
While this Yu-Gi-Oh classic games collection doesn't have a set release date yet, there's still plenty of other Duel Monsters gear available. For fans of the anime series, the first Yu-Gi-Oh animated movie gets a new steelbook edition Blu-ray this week (September 10). If you're patient, there's an adorable Seto Kaiba Nendoroid figure--don't tell Kaiba we said that--arriving in May 2025, and it comes with multiple face-plates, cards, a Duel-Disc, and a card-shaped pendant.
